In recent years, Louis Phillip-styled furniture has become a popular decorating choice. Based on the architectural forms of furniture popular in 19th century France during the reign of the “Citizen King,” the style is noteworthy by its wide ogee moldings used under tops and as bases. The Sutton Manor Collection takes a fresh look at this style and gives it a distinctive interpretation. Crafted of solid mahogany, all cases are framed with shadow box moulding with inset drawers. Bases have square turned bun feet and upper drawers are lined with luxurious felt. A generously proportioned sleigh bed—a form originating from this period—rounds out the collection.
